I created this piece just after the 9-11 incident. I was shocked in what I had seen on television as with most Americans. After my initial anger my next thoughts were why a group of people would so willingly kill themsleves and 3,239 others so needlessly? The foriegn affairs of our Governemnt and Saddam Hussein is why. If you track the history of the Barbary Coast and Middle Eastern countries you will find out why this happened. Nothing is by accident or without consequence. We must take into consideration what has happened in the past to not reapeat it in the future as we do so often.
This was painted using Prismacolor Colored Pencils.
20 layers of transparent coloring was layed down in a specific order to gain this "painted look".
I spent 220 hours to complete this.
